Enable Wi-Fi Tethering on iPhone with iBackupBot Tool

The ability to share an internet connection from mobile to other personal device for free is the most beneficial feature that you can think about. However, due to its importance, carriers charge extra for this premium feature on top of their current plan.

in this respect, there are several alternatives iPhone owners can use in order to make their iPhone a personal hotspot. However, some of them require a jailbroken device. If you do not want to jailbreak your device, you still have the possibility to enable Wi-Fi tethering on iPhone using the iBackupBot tool.

The following step-by-step guide will present the process of enabling personal tethering on iPhone using iBackupBot without having to jailbreak the device.

1. Download and install iBackupBot tool for the operating system you are using on your desktop computer. The software is available for free, and it allows users to view, export and edit backed up files on iTunes.

Download iBackupBot for Windows
Download iBackupBot for Mac

2. Launch iTunes on your computer and connect your iPhone using the Lightning cable or the USB cable.

3. Select the connected device, and click on the left tree window in order to create a backup copy. From the main iTunes interface, select the Back Up Now option.

 4. At this time, you need to launch iBackupBot. In case the software is facing various errors when launched, just skip past them by selecting ignore or continue.

5. From the list of all backups found within iTunes, select the latest one you have created and click on the “+” button next to the backup. At this point, a new set of options will appear.

6. Go to System Files, System Preferences Domain, System Configuration and then, right click on the file called preferences.plist. Click on the Open with Built-In Editor option.

7. Within the opened file, you need to look for the right APN. Search down for the APN associated to the carrier of your device. If you do not know it, perform a quick Google search. Erase the lines of code in the tethering APN field.

8. Now, you need to manually change the data that your device is using to access the web through cellular data. Usually, the data displays the name of the carrier.

9. Once you end the process, save the file and exit out of the iBackupBot app.

10. Return to iTunes and select your device from the list. Choose Restore from Backup while holding the Option/Shift key down. It is worth mentioning the fact that you need to select the backup that refers to the one you edited using iBackupBot.

At this point, Wi-Fi tethering should be enabled on your iOS device. As you can see, there is no need for jailbreaking your device, and the whole process is free of charge.

How to Fix iPad No SIM Installed Error – Tutorial

At a time when people use their tablets more than their personal computers, the iPad has become a necessity. However, you have not many things to do with your tablet if you do not have an internet connection. In this case, the SIM card seems to be the right answer especially when you are on the move.

Nevertheless, when No SIM installed error appear on iPad or even iPhone; things might become pretty frustrating for some, especially if you do not know the cause or the solution for that particular problem.

When your iPad does not recognize the SIM card, there are multiple causes for this issue. Here, I want to show you some possible situations when the iPad no longer recognizes the SIM card, and some useful solutions for you to try them out. Therefore, when your iPad displays the No SIM installed error, it might happen due to a misplacement of the SIM card inside the device, a damaged SIM card, a faulty SIM card reader, and in some cases, an improper jailbreak process.

No SIM Installed Error Fix

1. Damaged SIM card or SIM card Reader

In case you own a pretty damaged SIM card, the card might stop functioning any time for one reason or another. You need to check to see if the SIM Card is looking well, insert it in another device to check its validity. If the card does not work on any other device, the SIM card is the problem, and you need to replace it. If the problem still persists, you should check the following alternative solutions.

In case of a damaged SIM card reader, the reader might not detect the SIM card and the iPad will display the NO SIM installed error. In this case, the only solution is to replace the SIM card reader.

2. Unsupported SIM card

Sometimes, the respective device does not support the SIM card inserted. There are some SIM cards designed for some device while other cards support other devices.  As you know, when you purchase an Apple product with a two-year contract, you sign the contract with AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile. When using another SIM card, the device displays the NO SIM card installed message. For an invalid SIM card, the iPad has to be unlocked via IMEI unlock. The method is cheap and permanent.

3. Weak Signal Problem

Apparently, for some users, the NO SIM installed error appears due to a weak signal. For this, solution is pretty easy. Turn on the Airplane Mode for 20 seconds and then turn it off. The next step is to reset Network Settings. For this, you need to go to General, Settings, Reset and Reset Network Options. Remove the SIM card for a while and then place it back. This should fix the weak signal problem.

 4. Downgrading Error

For those of you who accidentally upgrade the iOS version to a different firmware, which it cannot be jailbroken, the upgrade might become a terrible thing. In this case, the only solution is to downgrade to an earlier iOS version and to a lower baseband. Some users suggest that the process of downgrading might become a little bit uncomfortable when the device is no longer able to read the SIM Card information. In this case, a restore, and an IMEI unlock represents the solution.

However, for this, you need iTunes 11, IPSW saved for your iPad and a supported SIM card.
Here is what you need to do:

tep 1: Download and install iTunes on your computer.
Step 2: Connect your device to your computer using the USB cable.
Step 3: Press and hold Shift and click Restore.
Step 4: Select the iOS 6.1.3 IPSW for your iPad and click on OK.
Step 5: After the restore process is complete, the iPad will recognize the SIM card.

If you encounter the NO SIM installed error on your iPad, you should try out these solutions to spot the problem and to fix it. Take one by one until the problem is solved. When a solution does not offer any result, try another one. Keep in mind that the NO SIM installed Error is fixable and in an easy way.

iPhone new app: helps decide whether or not to dump your boyfriend

A new iPhone app allows uncertain girlfriends to review their feelings towards their boyfriend from an objective point of view.

Chicago-based programmer Sarah Gray created the app ‘Should I Break Up With My Boyfriend?’ in her living room when working through a tumultuous relationship several years ago.

Gray said that she realised she was up and down on a daily basis and wanted to track her feelings about the relationship from an objective perspective.

The clever app requires girlfriends to rate how they feel about their significant other on a daily basis as well as recording their feelings

It then analyses the data and reveals how the user’s feelings fluctuated in comparison to their general outlook on life.

“Being able to see your relationship clearly and objectively is the first step on the path to a happy, healthy, love life – whether it’s with him, with someone else, or on your own for a while,” the Daily Mail quoted Gray as saying.

“Sometimes, we need an objective voice to help us appreciate a good thing or accept something painful. And this app helps us tap into the best voice of all – the one inside ourselves,” she said.

The app warns that it cannot replace ‘discussions with a licensed therapist, a best friend or a favourite pet’, but it can certainly provide a fresh point of view.

Users can also share results with trusted friends via email or SMS.
To ensure that the conflicted dater’s answers are not be influenced by their most recent feelings they are not able to look at their own results for a whole fortnight.

When viewed afterwards, developers MercuryApp hope the patterns will have more impact and help provide answers.

“We’re quick to forget or dismiss past feelings that don’t fi t in with our current mood, which is why seeing larger patterns can give you insight you might not have in the moment,” Gray added.

Her own results showed that her mood was ‘good’ only 39 percent of the time and neutral for the rest.
In the end, Gray believes that this simple but scientific analysis helped her to end a rocky relationship and move forward for good.

How to Unlock iOS 6.0.1 on iPhone 5, 4s, 4, 3gs [Overview]

It is great to use new iOS 6.0.1 version on iPhone 5, 4S, 4, 3GS and don’t think about to unlock it. But if you have such problem I will help you with that. Now when you know what baseband is on iOS 6.0.1 you can easily unlocking using the ways I have here.

Only few days ago I showed you all tips and tricks on how to unlock iOS 6 firmware and now the turn came for 6.0.1.

It is great that Apple payed attention on bugs in iOS 6 and decided to release iOS 6.0.1. The new version brought nothing special, only some improvements (now you can use over the air update on iPhone 5) and bug fixes like horizontal lines on the keyboard, camera issues, WiFi connection problems and more.

You will be able to enjoy all these features with one condition, when your phone will be unlocked. If you are looking to find some new unlocking solution for iOS 6.0.1 I have to disappoint you. There is still the same method as SAM, Gevey, Ultrasn0w. Also there is the best method know as IMEI unlocking method.

iOS 6.0.1 Unlock Methods:
SAM Unlock:

You can always unlock iOS 6.0.1 or any other iOS using SAM tool but only if you have backed up Activation ticket. With this ticket SAM is the best free unlocking solution in our days. There are still many those who are using SAM tool on their devices, especially those who have those tickets. So if you don’t have activation ticket forget about iOS 6.0.1.

In case you have it just use latest redsn0w and jailbreak iOS 6.0.1. Then add this Cydia repo:

http://repo.bingner.com
Then Install SAM on iPhone 4, 4S , 3GS and replace Activation ticket. The detailed guide on how to do that you can use from iOS 6 SAM unlock tutorial.

Gevey SIM and Ultrasn0w Unlock

Well there is the only one Gevey Ultra S for 3.0.04 baseband on iPhone 4S. If your iPhone’s modem firmware is 3.0.04 then you can easily to order this SIM at ApplenBerry company. But if your device features another baseband then stay away from the update. But it is confirmed that iOS 6.0.1 baseband on iPhone 4s is 3.0.04.

As for Ultrasn0w here is the same situation. All depends on baseband version on your device. iPhone 3GS can be unlocked but not 05.16.08. Only iPhone 3GS old bootrom and baseband:

04.26.08
05.11.07
05.13.01
05.12.01
06.15.00
As for iPhone 4 you will be able to unlock only 01.59.00 with Ultrasnow. So if you update your device to iOS 6.0.1 baseband 04.12.02 you will not be able to unlock it.

Also you need to know that there is not Ultrasn0w for iOS 6 or iOS 6.0.1. You can only use Ultrasn0w fixer by adding repo:

Untitled Documentlll http://repo.iparelhos,com
and install it on your device.

Note: I have just recently found warning to not update your device to iOS 6.0.1 if you use Ultrasn0w.

How to Unlock the iPhone 4S Right Now

Hacker Loktar_Sun has discovered how to easily unlock your iPhone 4S—and any other iPhone. The unlock will free you from your carrier's tyranny, which is great news, especially while traveling or switching companies. We have tested it and it works.

You will only need a jailbroken iPhone. The rest is painless:

IMPORTANT: Before starting, make sure to have the latest iTunes. This process should be painless and easy but, like with every other unlock, proceed at your own risk.

Step 1 : Go to Cydia and add repo.bingner.com as one of your app repositories. Search for Sam Bingner's SAM package and install it.

Step 2 : Click on SAMPrefs icon.

Step 3 : Go to utilities. Select De-Activate iPhone. Make sure your iPhone is deactivated under More Information.

Step 4 : Click on By Country and Carrier in Method. Then select your carrier.

Step 5 : Click on More Information again. Copy your IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity) in SAM Details.

Step 6 : Click on Spoof Real SIM to SAM.

Step 7 : Go to the main SAM menu and change the Method to manual. Paste the IMSI in the field.

Step 8 : Connect the iPhone to iTunes. It will reactivate your iPhone.

Step 9 : Disconnect your iPhone when done and quit iTunes.

Step 10 : Disable SAM in the SAMPrefs app.

Step 11 : Connect your iPhone to the computer. iTunes will start up and tell you it can't activate the iPhone.

Step 12 : Close iTunes and open it again.

Step 13 : This time, iTunes will activate your iPhone and it will be unlocked! You will be able to turn off your phone and do whatever you want. The unlock will keep working, at least until Apple releases its usual countermeasures in a firmware update.

If your push notifications stop working, go to SAM again and click on Clear Push then connect to iTunes again.

I wish they had discovered this before I went on my last trip. It could have saved me so much money. Still, this is fun. It reminds me of the good old days of the mighty first unlock saga. [Weiphone via Singularity via Tony Kaye]

TinyUmbrella Download 6.12.00 Version for iOS 6.1.2 Now Available

Since iOS 6.1.2 was released a few days ago, jailbreak developers also update their jailbreak tools in order to provide support for the new firmware. In this respect, the well-known TinyUmbrella software was also updated to 6.12.00 version with support for iOS 6.1.2. Therefore, you can download TinyUmbrella 6.12.00 for iOS 6.1.2 if you want to be able to save your SHSH blobs.

You know that every time a new iOS version is released, specialists advise you to save your SHSH blobs if you want to downgrade to a certain firmware when a new one is released.

Apple is quite quick with closing the firmware signing, so you always need to be prepared. Actually, TinyUmbrella offers support for all iOS 6 versions, except the latest beta one, and namely the iOS 6.1.3.

As you already know, the latest version of iOS has caused certain rumors and discussions in the jailbreak community because it seems to patch the exploits used by Evasion in order to perform an untethered jailbreak.

However, this thing makes the TinyUmbrella even more indispensable for you and for your iPhone, iPad or iPod  Touch .
TinyUmbrella is a valuable tool especially for those of you who desire to keep their jailbreak status on their devices and to downgrade to a previous signed firmware.

However, when the new iOS 6.1.3 will be revealed on the market, you should not upgrade to it if you still want to be able to use a jailbroken device.

Wth the new software containing a patch to prevent jailbreaking, we will definitely need to wait a little bit more before jailbreak developers would reveal a proper jailbreak tool for us.

Therefore, according to jailbreak specialists, users should avoid upgrading their devices to iOS 6.1.3 and in the same time, those of you who upgraded to iOS 6.1.2 in order to solve the Exchange bug, should use TinyUmbrella 6.12.00 in order to back up their SHSH blobs.

If you want to save your SHSH blobs on your iOS 6.1.2 using the new TinyUmbrella 6.12.00, you can check our tutorial posted here because the process is the same as the one for iOS 6.1.

iOS 6.1.2 Will Be Released Next Week to Fix Exchange and Lock Screen Bugs

Soon after the iOS 6.1 was released, users all over the world discovered certain irregularities in what concerns the security implemented by Apple on their iOS 6.1 devices. Most of them encountered certain problems and bugs, but now, Apple is planning to release iOS 6.1.2 next week mostly to fix the Exchange and Lock screen bugs.

Therefore, unknown sources suggested the fact that Apple is planning to release the next software update and namely the iOS 6.1.2 early next week, in order to fix all those issues including the Exchange and the Lock Screen vulnerabilities. As some of you already know, the Exchange bug prevented people to access their Exchange account and in the same time, it decreases the battery life and performance of their devices. In the same time, users encountered another problem within their iOS 6.1 devices. Apparently, by following some simple steps, users were able to bypass the Lock Screen passcode of any iOS 6.1 device and access the most important data. Therefore, in this way, your device is no longer protected by the lock screen password and other users can easily access your iMessages, emails, photos, FaceTime and even call log.

At the time, Apple was informed by this nasty bug and they offered a statement suggesting that they will deliver a fix in a future software update.  In what concerns the Exchange bug, both Apple and Microsoft offered an alternative solution in order to temporary fix this bug.  However, users were advised not to use the Exchange service until the problem is fixed. Official fixes for both of these problems are likely to be included as a part of the new iOS 6.1.2 update, which is scheduled to be released until the end of this month.

The source for this news is likely to be trusted because in the past, it offered various accurate reports concerning different iOS updates and release dates. If you are dealing with at least one of these problems, or even with other different bugs, then, you are probably eager to see the new iOS 6.1.2 release next week. However, this software will be suitable as long as you do not rely on a jailbreak device.

Download Snowbreeze 2.9.9 Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 6.1 is Now Available

Many of you are aware of the usefulness of Snowbreeze, the tool that allows you to perform untethered jailbreak on iOS 6.1 devices. Just recently, Snowbreeze 2.9.8 was released in order to support iOS 6.1 and to perform untethered jailbreak. Unfortunately, the software showed several bugs and problems. In order to solve this matter, Snowbreeze 2.9.9 untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1 is now available for download

The update contains multiple bug fixes and it was meant to solve all those problems users encountered when using the jailbreak tool in order to perform untethered jailbreak on their A4-based devices. However, as you already know, Snowbreeze is a Windows only jailbreak tool and it allows users to preserve the current baseband on their devices when jailbreaking them.

Let me tell you what Snowbreeze 2.9.9 has to offer to its users. In the first place, the reason why iH8sn0w chose to update the jailbreak tool was to fix the bug with those particular devices not showing in the iTunes or xcode service. Another problem solved is the bug that people encountered when building iPhone 3, iPhone 2 or iPhone 4 GSM- Rev 2 IPSW. Apple TV 2 problem was also solved with the help of this update. In the same time, one of the most important aspects regarding the new Snowbreeze 2.9.9 untethered jailbreak update is concerning the new Evasi0n untether possibility right on Cydia, in order to save your future updates.

As you can see, this update is about the maintenance and improvement of the software. There is nothing new added within Snowbreeze 2.9.9. What is different is the fact that all those problems users complained of are now gone. You are free to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch in an untethered mode without having other issues and problems using the new Snowbreeze 2.9.9 untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1. On the other hand, if you already used Snowbreeze 2.9.8 to perform untethered jailbreak on your device and you have not encountered any of these problems, then you should not download the new Snowbreeze, version 2.9.9 for untethered jailbreak on iOS 6.1 devices.

Download Evasion 1.3 Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 6.1.1 on iPhone 4S

As you know, recently, Apple released an update for the operating system, an update that refers particularly to the iPhone 4S and it needs. The new iOS 6.1.1 was created in order to fix all connectivity and cellular issues that the iPhone 4S users experienced in the past when updating their devices to iOS 6.1. The good news that comes along with the release of the iOS 6.1.1 is the fact that the Evad3rs team already gives us the opportunity to download Evasion 1.3 for untethered jailbreak on iOS 6.1.1 iPhone 4S.

So, if you are an iPhone 4S owner and you experienced a couple of problems with your device in what concern the connectivity aspect or the cellular data issue, then, you definitely should start upgrading your device to iOS 6.1.1. Moreover, now, when you have available the new Evasion 1.3 version, which allows you to perform untethered jailbreak on your brand new iOS 6.1.1 upgraded device. Users took into consideration the possibility that this new firmware will break the existent jailbreak. In fact, Apple developers had nothing to do with it. The iOS 6.1.1 was meant only to fix all those connectivity bugs and 3G errors, not to overwrite the jailbreak availability of your device.
Another thing that I want to mention you is the fact that Evasion 1.3 does not bring us any bug fixes or notable changes. Actually, it does not offer us anything new. It is suitable only for performing untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.1, precisely for iPhone 4S only. If you do not encounter in any of these two situations, then you have nothing to do with Evasion 1.3.
However, if you do not see any problems with your current iOS 6.1 device after jailbreaking, then there is no reason for you to upgrade to iOS 6.1.1 and use Evasion 1.3 to start jailbreak once again. On the other hand, if you noticed all those already-mentioned problems, then you should definitely upgrade your device and download Evasion 1.3 untethered jailbreak for your iPhone 4S running on iOS 6.1.1. Before doing all these things, you should take into consideration a quick backup for your device in case something wrong happens.
